Goals of the Spring 2010 Staff
Co-sponsored a Night of Poetry with the Decatur Area Arts Council during poetry month, April 26, 2010.
Investigated grant opportunities and marketing our backlist of books through eBay.
Completed copy and story boards and some illustrations for a new children's book, Monsters Don't Read.
Published a chapbook of tanka poetry by Natalie Perfetti, Moon's Edge. Designed by Sarah Wika & Katie Baird with original drawings by Laramie Hutchens. Included a limited edition with signed & numbered original print by Laramie Hutchens. The staff bound this book by hand using the Japanese binding method.
Marketed Sarah Johnson's book, OOPS! Did I Say That?, at the Heartland Heroes Awards Dinner. Sarah was keynote speaker at this event, sponsored by the Mid-Illinois Chapter of the Red Cross.
Students created one-off prototype publications including an artist feature chapbook, three-generations poetry chapbook, a newsletter by Long-Vandenburg Scholars, a doodlers zine, a booklet on vintage car advertising, and a children's book on soccer math.
